An unexpected cultural gem near Moffat.
A Buddhist Monastery situated at Eskdalemuir, a short drive from Moffat, Kagyu Samye Ling is the first and largest Tibetan Centre and Buddhist Monastery in the West.
This magnificient Tibetan Temple is the spiritual heart of Kagyu Samye Ling and the activities of the centre tend to revolve around the temple timetable. This starts at 6am with the sound of the temple gong calling sangha members to the first practice of the day.
You may quietly come and go from the temple during most puja's with the daily exceptions of the meditations between 8am and 9am and 5pm and 6pm. For these sessions you are asked to be settled before meditation starts and remain until the end.
