GETTING HERE

Moffat is less than a mile from point 15 on the A74(M)/M74 Carlisle to Glasgow motorway.

If you are coming from Edinburgh, the award-winning A701 is a wonderful alternative drive, much of which is through striking scenery.

If you are coming from the East, then the A708 from Selkirk is another award-winning road, passing St Mary’s Loch and the Grey Mare’s Tail on the way.

We all know that our environment is under threat and we need to do something about it. Moffat now has electric car charging points in Station Car Park. A single 50KW charger and 4off 7KW chargers from ChargePlace Scotland

National Express runs a very inexpensive overnight coach service from London to Glasgow, stopping at major conurbations on the way, and at Lockerbie, which is 16 miles south of Moffat. The fast and comfortable X74 coach service runs from the centre of Glasgow to Moffat High Street.

There is an extensive network of local bus routes throughout the South of Scotland.

Lockerbie, which is on the main West Coast line from London to Edinburgh or Glasgow, is 16 miles south of Moffat, and trains stop there regularly. There is a bus service to Moffat or, alternatively, you can arrange for Moffat Taxis (01683 221666) to collect you. Find a Train

Glasgow and Edinburgh Airports handle national and international flights. Hire cars are available, and there are connecting bus services.  Alternatively, arrange for Moffat Taxis (01683 221666) to collect you. Loganair operate flights from Dublin, Belfast and Southend to Carlisle Lake District Airport.

Quiet, cycle-friendly roads run alongside the M74/ A74(M).
